On Saturday June 17th 2023 Kelly Ann Manuel passed away peacefully at the age of 50 after a long, courageous battle with kidney disease.

Kelly was the loving wife of John Manuel of 18 years and devoted mother to Connor Braiden.

Kelly was born on November 9th 1972 to the late Peter and Suzanne (Masci) MacKinnon. A life long resident of Melrose MA, Kelly enjoyed quiet days at the ocean both in Ogunquit ME and down the cape always finding a special stone or shell to take home to preserve the memory of the day. She had an immense love of cooking and seeking out the newest cooking shows to find new recipes to try out. Kelly was a trusted listening ear for her friends and family and could be relied upon for her honest, direct opinion and to offer advice or a helping hand to those she loved whenever they needed. She had a soft spot in her heart for all animals but in particular dogs, especially her two rescued furry friends Brody and Cody.

Above all else, what brought her the greatest joy, was the life she built with her husband John and her son Connor. They were her world. She was the strongest momma bear who lived every day loving her family to the moon and back.

Kelly leaves behind her husband John and her son Connor; her brother Peter MacKinnon Jr, his wife Jennifer and her nephews Drew and Cole of Lynnfield; her mother and father-in-law, Liz and Jack Manuel of Wareham; and lifelong best friend Gina Stuffle of North Andover along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.

Visiting Hours will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at The Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster Street, Melrose. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visiting hours at The Incarnation Church at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
