Albert J. Barker Jr., of Reading, formerly of Melrose, died at his home on July 22, 2011 at the age of 65. Albert was born & raised in Chelsea and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1963. He went on to earn his B.S. in Marine Biology from Boston University. After college, Albert worked for 40 years at the New England Aquarium, working his way up to the Director of Sponsored Programs. He was the loving father of Jason E. Barker of Reading and Chad G. Barker of South Boston. Caring brother of Phyllis A. White & her husband Richard of CA and Carolyn Barker. Devoted nephew of Lorraine Ross of FL and Grace Ross of NH. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. A celebration of Life will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday July 27 at 7PM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours prior to the service from 5:30-7:00PM. Burial will be private.
