Alexander P. DePaolis passed away at Southwood of Norwood Nursing Care Center, on July 18th , he was 86. Alexander was born in Malden, raised in East Boston, lived in East Boston for several years and Melrose for over 30 years. Mr. DePaolis and his wife Josephine Pippy DePaolis owned and operated local store in East Boston for many years. He then worked as a supply manager at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for 17 years, retiring in 1984. Alexander will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his love of the arts & music. He was the loving husband of the late Josephine D. Pippy (Grandolfi) DePaolis. Son of the late Ugo & Lena (Sabattini) DePaolis. Beloved brother of Gina Gulla & Catherine Maddox both of Hingham and Louis DePaolis of Dorchester. His loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews will dearly miss him. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Saturday July 23rd at 9AM. Funeral mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 6-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
