Alexander M. Giacometti passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Sept. 8th at the age of 63. He started his career in the medical field working in the lab at Brigham & Womens Hospital in Boston, then in the lab at the North Shore Medical Center. After many years of hard work he became the Chief Operating Officer at NSMC, a position he held for many years and then CEO at the Medical Center for several years. He was extremely dedicated to the hospital and the staff. Mr. Giacometti lived in Washington DC, New York, Boston for many years and Cambridge the past few years. Alex enjoyed art & sculptures and did volunteer work at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is survived by many loving family members and cherished friends. Funeral services will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday Sept. 13th, at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 6-9PM.
