Alfred R. DeSimone passed away at Union Hospital in Lynn, on January 8, 2007; he was 80 years old. Alfred was born in East Boston, raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School. Mr. DeSimone entered the US Army after high school and served overseas for 2 years during WWII. Alfred worked for the General Electric Company in Everett for 38 years, retiring in 1988. He has been a resident of Wakefield since 1963; he loved sports and the Red Sox. Mr. DeSimone enjoyed traveling, including a trip back to Belgium where he served in WWII. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Marie-Jeanne (Beeckman) DeSimone. Loving father of Kevin F. DeSimone & his wife Kristen of Peabody. Devoted brother of Gilda Cocorocchio of Saugus, Peggy Rizzuto of Malden and the late Ralph DeSimone, Julia DiNatale & Angela DiMauro. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thurs. January 11th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 4-8PM. Interment in Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
