Obituary

Alice A. (Andrews) Cook passed away, at home, on October 20th, she was 90. Alice was born, raised and attended schools in Melbourne, Nova Scotia, before moving to North Reading in 1949. Mrs. Cook worked as a manager for W.T. Grants & Company for over 25 years in the Reading & Wakefield stores. She has been a resident of North Reading for over 55 years and was a loving mother & grandmother. Alice enjoyed her trips back to Nova Scotia, needle point and gardening. She was the wife of the late Elmer Cook. Mother of Robert E. Cook of Melrose and Elaine Allen & her husband James of Ontario. Sister of Hattie Mullen of Nova Scotia. Grandmother of Kristina A. Cook & Robert E. Cook both of Melrose, Cindi Verleyen, Sue Hodgins, Sandy Bolt & Jason Allen all of Ontario. Also survived by 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and one special niece, Betty Mullen of Weymouth, Nova Scotia. A funeral service will be held at Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday Oct. 24th at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made to Hallmark Health Hospice, 100 Hospital Rd. Malden 02148.
