Alice Irene "Chip" (Malenchini) Denley

Alice Denley, allegedly 87 despite insisting that she was 29 for almost 60 years of Georgetown, MA has gotten on her saddle and made her final ride. She passed peacefully in the care of Cedarview Hospice on July 19, 2024.

She was born in Wakefield on June 16, 1937, to Aristide and Mary Malenchini, who knew from the moment that she was born that she was a fighter. They were proven right, and this trait carried through her whole life. Alice attended Melrose High School, worked as a Bartender for years, at the Bluestar in Saugus and retired for a brief time in Dodge City, Kansas with her sister June. She eventually meandered her way back to Massachusetts to be the best Nana in the world.

Alice was loved by all, for her spirit, her grit and her brutal honesty. She in turn loved back to her sister's, her boys, her grandson, her plants, any and every animal and all her friends she made along the way.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Kenneth, her sister June and brother-in-law Gary, who will be thrilled to deal with Chip's antics in the afterlife. She is survived by her sisters, Rita Havener and husband Bob, Lorraine Goodhue and husband Frank, Her son Scott and girlfriend Judy, her son Christopher and his wife, Carrie, and her grandson Jack and his wife Meredith and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 9:00AM-11:00AM, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
