Alice C. (Tarpinian) Pawlak, of Melrose, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on June 12, 2014 at the age of 84. Alice was born & raised in Chelsea and a graduate of St. Rose's School in Chelsea. She resided most of her life in Melrose and worked as an Executive Assistant for the New England Telephone Company for many years before her retirement at the age of 63. Alice loved to sing and she would perform on the radio and also at the St. Mary's Variety Show at Memorial Hall in Melrose. She enjoyed cooking, cruises and taking her children to Revere Beach. Alice's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She was the beloved wife of Alfred J. Pawlak for 62 years. Loving mother of Kathleen A. Lynch & her husband Stephen of Swampscott, Maureen T. Pawlak, Eileen M. Preble & her husband Edward, all of Melrose, Kevin A. Pawlak & his wife Susan of N. Reading and the late Michael J. Pawlak. Cherished grandmother of Kristin, Erin, Meghan, Eddie, Janine, Bethany, Kevin, Andrew, Matthew. Great grandmother of Bailey, Peter, Morgan, Stephen, Aishlinn, Will and Charlotte. Caring sister of Albert Tarpinian of Quincy, Anne Roy & her husband Philip of CT and the late Irene Tarpinian. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, June 18th at 8AM. A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend.
