Alice V. (Chipman) Stiles died at Woburn Nursing Center in Woburn April 8th at the age of 79. Alice was born in Melrose, graduated from Medford High Class of 1940 and lived in Melrose for most of her life. She lived in Exeter NH for a few years and then moved back to Melrose. Alice & her husband Leslie owned and operated H. J. Stlies Flooring Co. in Melrose until 1982. Alice was a member of St. John Episcopal Church in Saugus and she was a longtime member of Bellevue Golf Club in Melrose. She was the wife of the late Leslie E. Stiles. Mother of Pam Christie & her husband Earl of Saugus, Les Stiles & his wife Patti of Exeter NH and Susan Monet & her husband Michael of Englewood FL. Sister of the late Barbara Vangrift. Grandmother of Allison Burrow of Newburyport, Pamela Blowen of NH and Lauren Monet of FL. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. April 11th at 9 AM. Funeral service at St. John Episcopal Church 265 Central St. Saugus at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 5-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Alice's memory to St. John's Episcopal Church Building Fund 8 Prospect St. Saugus 01906. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
