Obituary

Alma L. (Partridge) Staskawicz of Melrose, died on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center of Wakefield. She was 86 years old. Born on September 3, 1924 in Great Britain, she was raised in Wales and came to the United States on the Queen Elizabeth II as a war bride in 1946. Mrs. Staskawicz worked as a payroll supervisor at Sears & Robuc in Boston and Lynn for over 20 years. She was a Melrose resident for 56 years and a founding member of the Incarnation Church of Melrose. Alma was an avid knitter, crocheted and baked. She was a longtime member of Incarnation Church & the Melrose Bowling League. Mrs. Staskawicz was the beloved wife of 65 years to Stanley D. Staskawicz. Loving mother of Robert Staskawicz & his wife Liann of Windham, NH, Brian Staskawicz & his wife Martha of Berkley, CA and Kenneth Staskawicz of Melrose. Grandmother of Liam & Kerrin, Craig & Natalie and Sean. Great grandmother of Brianna, Kristyn & Zakkery. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. May 11th at 9AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at The Church of the Incarnation, 429 Upham St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00-8:00PM.
