Amanda M. Medeiros passed away at the Lahey Clinic in Peabody, on September 21, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She was only 24 years of age. She was born in Melrose on September 5, 1990, was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 2009. She was active as a cheerleader for several years while at Melrose High School. Amanda was a student at Assumption College in Worcester, where she was working towards her degree. She was a wonderful person with a warm personality. Amanda loved dancing, music, shopping, and cherished her best friend and loving companion Remy. Amanda was the cherished daughter of Joseph F. Medeiros of Peabody & Judy (Introini) O'Brien & her husband Michael of Melrose. Beloved sister of Nicole Smith & her husband Jason of Peabody. Loving granddaughter of Catherine King of Somerville & Claire Introini of Framingham. Devoted aunt of Emily, Joseph & Jack Smith. Caring niece of Richard & Beth Introini, Robert Introini & his late wife Sharon, Susan & Keith MacDonald, Maureen Kamm, Theresa & Kevin Douglas, Robert Lubofsky, Carol Medeiros and Coreen & Carlo Gavino. Also survived by numerous cousins & friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, Sept. 25th from 4:00-8:00PM, followed by a funeral service on Friday at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice
