IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Amelia Vatet
Sindeband (Gilbert)
July 21, 1969 – May 24, 2024
Amelia Vatet Sindeband (Gilbert) went to dance with joyful abandon on the streets of Heaven on May 24, 2024, after a long and hard fought battle with Anorexia.
Amelia, affectionately known as 'Amelia Bedelia', Amy and Aimee, was born in Germany on July 21, 1969; she was 54.
Amelia loved Ballet dancing, sunbathing with baby oil while blasting Prince songs, dressing with great style, anything French and wearing Sephora blue eyeshadow to accent her gorgeous eyes. Amelia loved to passionately discuss the poetry of Emily Dickinson and prose of Henry Miller and Simone De Bouvoir. Amelia enjoyed overseas travel to Japan, Mexico, Prague and the Dominican Republic. Amelia's sparkling blue eyes and charming smile, coupled with her silly, fun sense of humor, could light up our darkest nights. Tragically, the disease of Anorexia often forbade Amelia from seeing the shining light within her that all others saw so well.
In the last decade of her life, Amelia resided with her devoted, loving Life Partner, Paul Denning, at their home in Pelham, New Hampshire.
Amelia was the daughter of Jacqueline nee Vatet Sindeband and Markham Lloyd Sindeband of Katonah, NY. Amelia has one surviving sister, Melissa Sindeband Dragon of Swampscott, Massachusetts and one surviving brother, Markham Sindeband of Croton on the Hudson, New York. Through her Brothers in Law, Rob Curtis and Jeff Dragon, and Sister in law, Ling Sindeband, Amelia was an Aunt to Nieces: Shelby Curtis, Grace Dragon, Elizabeth Sindeband and Nephew, Lars Sindeband.
Melissa and Markham envision and believe Amelia's Sprit is now dancing with the Spirit of her beloved younger Sister, Tanya (who left this mortal coil 21 years ago), older Sister, Virginia (who departed 58 years ago).
Amelia will rest in peace knowing her beloved Paul will be taking extra special care of their 'fur baby', (a mini golden doodle) named Nina.
Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., in Melrose, Massachusetts on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 10:30-11:30 am followed by Amelia's funeral service in the funeral home at 11:30 am. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
