Andrew John Previte or affectionately known as Andy, was born on April 20, 1931, to his beloved parents Peter and Nicolina (LeDonne) Previte. With his twin brothers Domenic and Anthony and "sister" Carmela, they lived in East Boston for a short time and relocated to Everett, where he attended schools while also helping his family with their Italian market. He often delivered food by bicycle to customers throughout the city.

Andrew was a graduate from Malden Catholic H.S. in 1948, then received his bachelor's degree in education from Boston College in 1952 and concluded his education graduating with a Liberal Arts in Teaching master's degree in 1958 from Middlebury College in VT.

Andy honorably served his country in the US Army as a Corporal from October 1952 until his discharge in September 1954.

After his discharge, Andy began his education profession. His career started in the Woburn school district but eventually he made his way back home to Everett and Everett High School where he taught foreign languages, specifically French and Italian until his retirement in 1993. He also held the position of Principal of Everett's Continuing Education Night Program.

Andy married the love of his life Elena (Fiore) on April 15, 1961, and resided in Melrose for 62 years until his passing. The two were each other's lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with two children, Peter and Christina, then welcomed their son-in-law Dan in 1988.

With a special needs child, Andy (along with Elena) dedicated his life to his son's needs and became an active member of EMARC, Inc. which supported individuals with developmental disabilities to live, work and play.

Andy was an active and devout parishioner of The Church of the Incarnation where he served as lectern and then usher well into his 80's.

Andy's greatest joy was becoming a grandfather to his two grandsons, Danny and Timmy. Very active and present in their lives from infancy to adulthood, he cherished every moment spent together. He was overjoyed the day Danny married his lovely wife Kaitlyn as he was thrilled to have a granddaughter.

Andy enjoyed the simple pleasures; great conversations, reading his Boston Globe every day, doing his crossword puzzle and playing Sudoku. Reaching out to friends and neighbors, always lending a helping hand. Raising a glass with his beverage of choice, a single malt scotch with those he loved so much. He truly will be greatly missed.

Andy was the beloved husband of the late Elena P. (Fiore) Previte. Dedicated & loving father of Peter Previte, and Christina E. Raymond & her husband Daniel of Windham, NH. Cherished grandfather of Daniel J. Raymond II & his wife Kaitlyn, Timothy M. Raymond and the late Matthew A. Raymond. Predeceased by his parents, Peter and Nicolina (LeDonne) Previte, and his brothers Domenic Previte and Anthony Previte, and his "sister" Carmela Terrizzi. Andy is also the cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, at the Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St., Melrose. Burial to follow the mass at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
