Angelina M. (Mainiero) DiCicco, of Melrose, formerly of East Boston, died peacefully on May 22, 2016 at the age of 90. Angelina was born in Cambridge on April 5, 1926 to Michael and Carmela (Bevere) Mainiero. She was raised in East Boston and graduated from Girls Trade in Boston. Angelina married the love of her life, Joseph DiCicco, in 1953 at the Star of the Sea Church in East Boston. They had two children, Joanne & Joyce, and later moved to Melrose in 1968 and remained there for the rest of their lives. Angelina was a dedicated mother, she was always there for her children as well as her grandchildren. Being a mother was her number one priority from the moment she had her first child until the day she died. She always kept a very neat household, everything had its place and she could always tell if anything had been moved. Angelina was also a great friend, and was always willing to help anyone in need. During her free time, she would relax by crocheting while watching her favorite soap operas and Christmas stories. Angelina's family would like to thank Dr. Neal Nadelson as well as the 3rd and 4th floor nurses at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for their dedicated care of their mother. Angelina was the beloved wife of the late Joseph DiCicco. Devoted mother of Joanne Danilchuk & her husband David of Stoneham, and Joyce Loder & her husband Don of Melrose. Proud grandmother of Amanda Abell & her husband Kyle, Bryan, Sean, Andrew & his wife Marjorie, and Marissa. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 9 AM followed by a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Wakefield. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
