Ann F. (Kinnally) Burke of Melrose, died on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center of Melrose. She was 92 years old. Born on January 12, 1916 in Chelsea, MA to the late Frank J. & Mary J. (Flaherty) Kinnally, she was also raised in Chelsea. She was a graduate of the St. Rose School; Class of 1934, where she was the class Valedictorian. Mrs. Burke worked for the City of Chelsea as the principal clerk of the water department for 48 years. After her retirement she went back to work with the Jordan Marsh Company for 8 years. Ann loved going to the movies, reading a couple of books a week, all politics, her new computer, her independence and the York Beach, Maine home which she kept for her family. She was so proud of her two daughters, her six grandchildren and her two great grandchildren. She continuously worried about them all the way up to her last days. Ann was the devoted wife of 33 years to the late Asa J. Burke, loving mother of Mary J. Hughes of Melrose & Ethel B. Chiminello & her husband Frank, also of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Maureen Hughes, Michele Hurley & her husband Dennis, Christine Chiminello, Amy Carville & her husband Damian, Laura Chiminello & the late J. Michael Hughes. Special great grandmother of Teagan & Braeden Hurley. Caring sister of the late Edward Kinnally. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thurs. Feb.21st at 9:45AM. Funeral Mass in St. Rose Church, 601 Broadway, Chelsea at 11AM. Family & friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 4-8PM. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
