Ann M. (Mitchell) Holt passed away at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody, on January 13, 2009. She was 97 years of age. Ann was born in Boston, raised in Everett, attended Everett schools and lived most of her life in Malden. Ann worked as a clerk for the New England Telephone Company for a few years and then as an accounting clerk for Berkshire Apparel in Malden for 10 years. Mrs. Holt enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, reading and going to bingo with her sister Jean. She has been a resident of Peabody for the past 32 years and was a volunteer for the Red Cross blood drives. Beloved wife of the late William Holt. Loving mother of Sandra A. Reece and her husband Robert of Peabody and the late James W. Holt. Cherished grandmother of Rebecca A. Schultes and her husband Evans of Wilmington & James R. Reece of Peabody. Caring great grandmother of William H. Schultes and Victoria E. Schultes, both of Wilmington. Caring sister of the late Jane "Jean" Mann. Mother in law of Barbara Rodrigues of Methuen. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Sunday Jan. 18th at 2PM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 12-2PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ann's name to the Torigan Community Life Center 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960.
