Ann T. "Nancy" Murphy, of Melrose, died at her home on Oct. 26, 2012 at the age of 81. Nancy was born & raised in Medford and a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1949. She resided in Medford for many years and Melrose since 1953. Nancy worked as an Electronics Assembler for Dolan & Jenner in Melrose & Woburn for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed doing cross stitching, embroidering, westerns "Especially Gunsmoke", shopping with her husband and walking her dog. Nancy was and avid Tom Brady & N.E. Patriots fan and loved spending her time with her grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late James J. Murphy for 54 years. Loving mother of Patricia A. Patterson & her husband Frank of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Amanda J. Patterson & her husband Tim Donovan of Salem & Daniel J. Patterson of Salem, NH. Caring sister of Mary Noone of Lynn, Paul Shea & his wife Mary of Billerica, Clare Upperman of FL, Gert Flemming & her husband Frank of WY, Patrick Shea & his wife Eva of Melrose and the late Rita Breen & her late husband Ken, the late John Shea and the late Elizabeth Torridi & her husband Dan of Malden. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday Oct. 30th at 8AM. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-7PM.
