IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anna Hennigan O'Brien
Donovan
November 15, 1934 – January 6, 2023
Anna "Ann" Hennigan O'Brien Donovan of Melrose, MA. (11/15/34 - 1/6/23)
Ann was born in Charlestown 11/15/34 to Thomas J Hennigan and Catherine Ryan Hennigan of Melrose. She grew up in both Charlestown and Melrose with her siblings; Thomas, Robert, Mary and William.
She attended Melrose Public Schools and held various jobs from waitressing, hairdressing and a candy packer. She was an avid bowler and loved bingo.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Jack Donovan and her son Eddie O'Brien. She is survived by her daughter Lorraine O'Brien Benoit and her husband Leon (Billerica) and siblings Mary Hennigan Connors (Charlestown) and William Hennigan (Ipswich). Her grandchildren, Lynn O'Brien Brennan and spouse Christian (Saugus), TJ and spouse Shawn Rutka-Benoit (CT), Brien Benoit (Billerica), Shaun Benoit and spouse Amanda (Billerica), Eddie & spouse Courtney O'Brien (FL), Michael & spouse Nicole (FL), and Dylan & spouse Michelle Benoit (Tewksbury) and 14 great grandchildren and extended nieces & nephews who all called her Nana.
She was happiest at home and surrounded by family & friends to visit with. If you were lucky enough to sit close to her, she would tell you her philosophy or give you advice on what you should be doing. There was an inner strength that she would sit with and feel confident to express her views & interests.
Throughout the years she kept a close and tight circle of friends. While we will all mourn her loss, she also leaves behind two special ladies, Jane & Marsha (Ann's Angels) who stood beside her as her spirit stayed strong when her body couldn't.
A graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend.
