Anna L. (Allen) Forbes passed away at the Woburn Nursing Center in Woburn, on March 1, 2011, at the age of 82. Anna was born in Everett, on November 10, 1928 to the late Lillian (Harris) Allen. She was raised in Everett, graduated from Everett Vocational School in 1943 and was a lifelong resident. Prior to raising her children, Anna worked at I. J. Fox Fur Company in Boston as a model and in sales for several years. Mrs. Forbes was a former member of the City Democratic Committee in Everett, loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren. Anna was the beloved wife of the late William H. Forbes Sr. Loving mother of William H. Forbes Jr. & his wife Mary of Melrose, Patricia Forbes-Fresco of Stoneham, Felicia Forbes-Kalloch & her husband David of Epping, NH, Mark Forbes & his wife Patti of Lynn and Cindy Foulkes & her husband Jim of FL. Caring sister of the late John Sonny Allen & his wife Mary of Fl, the late Patricia Cogan & her late husband Dick of Stoneham and the late Lillian Allen. Cherished grandmother of William, Scott, Julie, Rachael, Lindsay, Jessica, Melanie, Toyna, Elizabeth, Mark, Justin, Nicolette, Christina, Brian, Heather, Melissa and the late Joel Allen Forbes. Proud great grandmother of Abby, Jackson, Will, Carter, Camden, Nason & Maddie. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday, March 7th, at 9AM. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Annas life will be held at St. Marys Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM.
