Anna M. (Backstrom) Kelloway, of Malden, died at Davenport Home in Malden on August 3, 2013 at the age of 84. Anna was born in Boston, raised in Malden and a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1946. She went on to earn her Nursing Degree from the Whidden Nursing School in Everett, Class of 1948. Anna worked as a Registered Nurse for the Whidden Hospital and the Chelsea Soldier's Home for 44 devoted years before her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, making jewelry, playing the piano & singing. Anna was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Malden for many years and loved to spend her time with her grandchildren. Anna was the beloved wife of the late Simeon John Kelloway & the late Charles Hannum Shultz. Loving mother of Peter J. Kelloway & his wife Kyong-Cha of Maine and Heidi A. Steele & her husband Peter of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Daniel & Marshall Kelloway and Charles & Anna Steele. A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, 164 Winter St., Saugus on Thursday August 8th at 9:30AM, followed by a funeral service at the First Lutheran Church of Malden, 62 Church St., Malden at 11AM.
