Obituary

Anna May (Sullivan) Robinson passed away at the age of 88 at Woburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Woburn on September 29, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Melrose on August 2, 1926 to the late Coleman & Delia (Philbin) Sullivan. Anna was raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary's Grammar and Melrose High School. She was the youngest child with three older brothers James, Thomas & Leo Sullivan. She met the love of her life William A. Robinson while in high school; they married on September 7, 1947 and raised nine children until his untimely death on September 1, 1973. Anna was a lifelong resident of Melrose and an active member of St. Mary's Church. She worked as a nurse's aide at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for 34 years. Anna was a wonderful cook who enjoyed knitting & crocheting and was an avid Red Sox fan. Anna's main focus in her life was her church and her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She was the beloved wife of the late William A. Robinson. Loving mother of Patrica Mulcahy & her husband Robert of N. Andover, Bill Robinson & his wife Diane of Wakefield, Nancy Faulkner & her husband Rod of Stoneham, Kathy Wakefield & her husband Dan of FL, James Robinson & his wife Gail of Billerica, Bryan Robinson & his wife Patricia of FL, Paul Robinson & his wife Beth of Watertown, Steven Robinson & his wife Pamela of Wakefield and the late Kevin Robinson. Sister of the late James Sullivan & his surviving wife Mary of NJ, & the late Leo & Marie Sullivan & the late Thomas & Louise Sullivan. Grandmother William & Amy Meuse, Janine Brown, William, Michael & Bradford Robinson, Larry Faulkner & his wife Kerry, Christopher Faulkner, Daniel Faulkner, Nicole Kelleher, Shannon Caton & her husband Douglas, James & Matthew Robinson, Kevin, Joseph & Mitchell Robinson, Patrick, Thomas, Cameron & Celia Robinson and Samantha & Steven Robinson. Great grandmother of Billy, Megan, Jaclynn, Jonathan, Jeffery, Patrick, Paul, Carolyn, Joseph, David, Brenna, Eliana & Daelyn. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thursday, October 2nd at 10:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8PM. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
