Anna B. (Smith) Urquhart, of Quincy, formerly of W. Roxbury & originally from Nova Scotia, died Wednesday, January. 16, 2008 at the John Scott Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Braintree, MA. She was 98 years old. Born on February 27, 1909 to the late Albert & Linnie (Stoddart) Smith, she was raised in Nova Scotia until the age of 20. She moved to W. Roxbury and lived there for 50 years and then spent 25 years in Quincy. Anna was very active with the DeMolay Mothers Club of Roslindale, Eastern Star and Cub Scouts. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, arts & crafts, baking and gardening. Mrs. Urquhart worked at Dicksons, a local 5 & 10 Store in W. Roxbury for 25 years and also as a waitress with Hauck Catering and later with Doyle Catering. She was the devoted wife of the late John MacLellan & Charles E. Urquhart. Loving mother of Frances E. Gilmartin & her late husband Walter of Stoughton, Edward J. Urquhart & his wife Janet of Tewksbury, formerly of Stoneham & the late Charles W. Urquhart. Cherished grandmother of Richard Gilmartin & his wife Linda of FL & Ronald Gilmartin & his wife Nancy of CA. Great grandmother of Alianna Gilmartin of FL. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral Service in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. Jan. 23rd at 11AM. Family & Friends invited. Greet the family from 10-11AM. Interment will be private.
