Anne (DiMauro) Drinkwater, of St. Petersburg, Fl, died at her home on July 22, 2011 at the age of 100. Anne was born on Oct. 6, 1910 in Lawrence to Carl & Mary DiMauro. She was one of 4 children. She spent her early childhood in Wakefield, Newburyport and Florida, as her family was actively involved in the restaurant business. She served as a hostess at both Carl's Duck Farm in Saugus and the Bellaire Country Club in Clearwater, FL. It was there, she met her husband to-be, Louis Drinkwater, and this was the beginning of their new life together in Melrose, where Fred & Louis Drinkwater had their contracting & homebuilding business. Anne loved to entertain & be entertained, and she loved her home, garden, friends and family. Many attended her 100th birthday celebration in Florida in October 2010. Anne was the beloved wife of the late Louis P. Drinkwater for 45 years. Cherished sister of Pauline Vella of Fl and the late Connie Weyler, Venera Zarella and Joseph DiMauro. Also survived & cherished by her several nieces, nephews, great & great-great nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday July 29th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation 425 Upham St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 3-6PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
