Annina (Rago) Federico, of Melrose, formerly of the North End, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Feb. 12, 2008 at the age of 76. Annina was born & raised in Italy and moved to America in 1971. She lived in the North End for 15 years and past 21 years in Melrose. Annina was a member of St. Leonard's Church in the North End and St. Mary's Church in Melrose for many years. She worked as a Seamstress for several clothing manufacturers in Boston for over 30 years. Annina loved her gardening in the North End, cooking and making wine. She loved her family and was the "best mother in the world". Annia was the beloved wife of the late Vito G. Federico for 46 years. Loving mother of Graziella "Grace" Federico & her husband Crescenzo "Chris" of Malden, and Josephine DeSantis & her husband Fernando of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Domenico, Rossana, Freddy, Massimo. Caring great grandmother of Tianna, Domenic, Anthony, William, Nicholas, Matthew, Michael and Maya. Devoted sister of Domenica and Francesco. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday Feb. 16th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8PM. Burial in St. Michael's Cemetery, Boston.
