Anthony F. DeLuca passed away at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, in Boston, on July 31st, at the age of 74. Anthony was born and raised in South Boston, graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School, Class of 1948 and received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Bunker Hill Community College in 1976. Mr. DeLuca lived in Roslidale for 10 years, Melrose the past 25 years and has summered in East Dennis for over 50 years. He was a Boston Police Patrolman at Station #7 in East Boston for 35 years, acting as a representative & clerk for the station for many years. Anthony was a US Army Korean War Veteran, was a member of the Boston Police Patrolmens Association, a member of the K of C in Boston, the Sons of Italy and the Italian American Boston Police Association. He was the beloved husband of Dolores G. (Scott) DeLuca. Loving father of Theresa A. DeLuca of Melrose. Devoted grandfather of Hilary M. Gillcrist of Melrose. Loving brother of Joseph & Salvatore DeLuca both of S. Boston, Rosemary Zona of Hingham & Mary Lou Scappicchio of Melrose. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday Aug. 5th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited.
