Antonio Constantino passed away at the Golden Living Center Elmhurst in Melrose on November 2, 2015. He was 90 years of age. Antonio was born in Belmont on January 10, 1925 to the late Dominic & Maria (Parisi) Constantino. He was raised in Belmont, graduated from Belmont High School, Class of 1942 and then entered the service. He served his country with pride in the US Army during WWII. After his discharge from the Army he worked as a technical mechanic, first at MIT and then for the research company Nuclear Metals for over 30 years. Mr. Constantino has been a resident of Melrose for the past 61 years, was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church, a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus. In his early years he enjoyed playing baseball for the American Legion in Belmont, he was an avid Patriots fan and a former season ticket holder and loved working outside or puttering around his home in Melrose. But most of all he cherished the times spent with his family. Antonio was the beloved husband of 61 years to Celia A. (Umano) Constantino. Devoted father of Deacon A.J. Constantino & his wife Betty of Revere, Mary A. Hill & her husband Robert of Woodbridge, CT, Paul D. Constantino of Providence, RI & David M. Constantino of Palm Harbor, FL. Loving grandfather of Julianne Constantino, Justin Hill, Alexandra Hill & Christine Hill. Caring brother of Salvatore Constantino of Woburn. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thursday morning November 5, 2015, from 9:00-10:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 10:30AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment with military honors at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. WWII Army Veteran.
