Obituary

Antonio ''Anthony'' Russo died at Elmhurst Nursing Home in Melrose after a long illness Jan. 16th at the age of 89. Anthony was born and raised in Melrose and has been a lifelong resident of Melrose. He worked as an auto mechanic for Bowden St. Garage in Boston for a few years and then for Luby Chevrolet on Boylston St. by Fenway Park in Boston for over 25yrs. He was the husband of the late Angela T. (DiRaffaele) Russo. Father of Carolyn F. Puleo & her husband Carl of Melrose and the late Anne Marie McAteer. Brother of Josephine Giuffre of CA, Susan Russo of Melrose, Mary Russo of FL. and the late Nancy Lopez, Caroline Ciuffi, John Russo and Lawrence Russo. Grandfather of Colleen Murphy, James Healy and Michelle Gallo. Great grandfather of Alyssa, Matthew and Brooke Murphy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sat. Jan. 19th at 9AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 5-9PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc. 36 Cameron Ave. Cambridge 02140 or to a charity of your choice. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
