Arthur W. Caggiano died at home Saturday evening May 11th after a lengthy illness at the age of 94. He was born and raised in the NorthEnd & East Boston, Arthur was the owner/operator of the Caggiano Tire Co. in the North End for many years. He was also an Auditor for the Internal Revenue Service for over 20yrs. Arthur was a member of the Melrose Kiwanis Club, the Bellevue Country Club, a parishioner of the Church of the Incarnation in Melrose, the Knight of Columbus and the Sons of Italy in E. Boston. Arthur had lived in Melrose for 15 yrs, Pompano Beach FL for 20yrs and Malden for the past two years. He was the husband of Dorothy C. (Thornton) Caggiano. Father of Arthur W. Caggiano of Canada, Paul Caggiano of NH, Mary G. Libby of Stoneham, AnneMarie Caggiano of Malden, Karen T. Erwin of Wakefield, Robert Caggiano of CA. and the late Kevin Caggiano & Ann Susan Caggiano. Grandfather of Arthur, Miranda, Felicia, Suzanna, Joseph, Jamie, Jason, Courtney, Donald, David, Christopher, Kimberly and Corey. Brother of Florence Caggiano of E. Boston. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St. Melrose on Wed May 15 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation, 429 Upham St. Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visitng hours Tues 4 - 8 pm. Burial will be in Winthrop Cemetery, Winthrop.
