Audrey E. (Sullivan) Baier, of Melrose, died at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Jan. 1, 2014 at the age of 89. Audrey was born in Medford, raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1943. She was a lifelong Melrose resident, a homemaker and her children always came first. Audrey enjoyed traveling and was very devoted to her grandchildren & great grandchildren. Her family & many friends were the most important part of her life. Audrey was the beloved wife of the late John L. "Jack" Baier for 58 years. Loving mother of Suzanne Greelish & her husband Kevin of Topsfield, John L. Baier, Jr. & his wife Deborah of NH, Kit Gwin & her husband Bob of TX and Ted Baier & his wife Jackie of MN. Caring sister of Jane Mead of Melrose, Barbara McElwee of Weston and the late Pauline Sullivan and Peggy Bergman. Cherished grandmother of Brendan & Daron Greelish, Jay, Lexi, Abby & Jack Baier. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, Jan. 7th from 8:30-10:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made in Audrey's name to the charity of your choice.
