Barbara M. Daley (O'Malley), age 91, of N. Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born on January 6, 1933, to George and Mary O'Malley (Powell) in Malden, MA, and immediately brought warmth and joy to the world. She was a 1951 graduate from Cheverus High School in Malden, MA.

Barbara started her career at the telephone company before becoming a cashier and hostess at the Cap and Whip Club at Suffolk Downs in Revere, MA. She then joined her sons, John and Timmy, as a receptionist for their construction company for many years.

Barbara met her dear husband, John "Jack" Daley, and the two were inseparable from that point on; residing in Melrose, MA in their early years together before spending many years splitting their time between their camp in Maine and their home for 30 years at Pine Lakes in N. Fort Myers, FL, where they made incredible friends that turned into family.

Barbara was an innovative President of the Nifty-Niners Ladies Golf League, an influential member of the Pine Lakes Women's Club, a long-time St. Therese Catholic Church parishioner, a dynamic hostess for her always fun house-parties, a fabulous cook, a proud "Muffin" member, a shopping guru, a beach lover, an always ready-to-go traveler, an energetic organizer of many exciting events; a fashionista style icon, a willing and capable chauffeur for many, and above all she was loving, caring, and generous to a fault with all her friends and family.

A fiercely dedicated mother to her five children, Barbara raised them all to accomplish great things. Family came first and was above all else to her, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill for all those who love her.

Barbara is predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Daley; her son, John Leonard Jr.; her parents, George and Mary O'Malley (Powell); and her loving dog, Jiggs.

Barbara is survived by her children, Dennis Leonard and his wife, Debbie, of Saugus, MA, Kevin Leonard and his wife, Lynn, of Tewksbury, MA, Timmy Leonard of N. Fort Myers, FL, Cheryl Masiello of Tewksbury, MA and stepchildren, Janice Elks, and her husband, John, of Las Vegas, NV and Kathleen Cheney, and her late husband, David, of Plaistow, NH. Cherished "Nana (Barbara)" to her 12 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Beloved sister to George O'Malley Jr., and his late wife, Nancy, of Malden, MA, and Mary Lou Atkinson, and her husband Richard, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC. She was also a loving aunt and great-aunt to her nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose, on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
