Barbara P. (Shea) Driscoll passed away at the Courtyard Nursing Home in Medford on January 5th at the age of 78. Barbara was born and raised in Malden, graduating from Malden High School in 1944 and LaSell College in 1946. Mrs. Driscoll was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a resident of Melrose for 50 years and a longtime member of St. Marys Church. Barbara was the loving wife of James F. Driscoll. Daughter of the late John J. and Honora (Regan) Shea. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Sheila and Cliff Brown of Melrose, Colleen and Scott Kinder of Needham, Jeff and Margaret Driscoll of Melrose, Jack and Marion Driscoll of Cromwell, CT, Gail and Michael Burati of Chelmsford, Julie and Francis Nolan of Melrose. Sister of Pauline Shea of Melrose, Mary Richmond of Gloucester and the late Peter P. Shea. Loving grandmother of Alyssa and Ashley, John Peter, Andrew and Claire, Ryan and Elizabeth, Dylan and Marissa, and Frankie and Danny. She was also a loving and dear friend of in-laws: Mary Sheehan of Eugene OR; Eileen Scott of Ocala, FL; Jean Cain of Phoenix, PA; Jack and Dolores Driscoll of Rye, NH; Pat and Dom Scarpa of Wakefield; Bob Driscoll, Betty and Fran Connolly, Dave and Kathy Driscoll all of Melrose. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday Jan. 7th at 11:00AM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's of the Annunciation Church, Herbert St. Melrose , at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Visiting hours Thurs. 4-8PM & Friday morning from 10:00 -11:00AM.
