Barbara J. (MacDonald) Evangelista passed away suddenly at the North Shore Medical Center in Lynn, on March 14, 2009. She was 75 years of age. Barbara was born on April 21, 1933 in Stoneham to the late Curtis & Evelyn (Roberts) MacDonald. She was raised in Stoneham, graduated from Stoneham High School and has lived in Wakefield for over 55 years. Barbara worked at the Gytron Company in Stoneham for a few years, at a couple of banks in Wakefield for a several years and the past 20 years as an office manager for her son's company, EJ Paving in Methuen. Mrs. Evangelista was first and foremost a dedicated mother and grandmother, who loved to attend all the sporting events her grandchildren participated in. She was a longtime member of St. Florence Church in Wakefield; she loved going to the beach, reading and playing cards with her girlfriends. Beloved wife of the late Ernest J."EJ" Evangelista. Loving mother of Steven P. Evangelista & his wife Lynda of Wakefield, Thomas P. Evangelista & his wife Lee of Methuen and Scott M. Evangelista & his fiance Doreen Langlois of Salem, NH. Cherished grandmother of Tyler, Gregory, Ashley, Connor & Thomas Evangelista Jr. Devoted sister of Carol Hisle of IN. Sister-in-law of Rose Foley & Gail Evangelista both of Wakefield. Niece of Edward "Sonny" Whitehouse of FL. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed. March 18th at 8:45AM.
