Barbara Elaine (Phimister) Nelson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Nelson on September 29, 2024, at the age of 88. Heaven has gained a special angel today.

She was a loving Daughter, Mother, Sister, Wife, Nana, and Great Grandmother and friend to too many.

She lost the love of her life Bill to a short battle with COVID 19 back on 4/25/2020 at Fairhaven in Lowel MA

Barbara was born to the late Daniel (Scotty) and Mildred (Millie) Gullage Phimister. Barbara has one brother; Daniel Phimister JR of Moultonborough, NH (formerly of Wakefield MA). She grew up in Somerville and graduated from Somerville HS class of 1954 with her High School Sweetheart Bill Nelson. They later married on 11/4/1956 and had an amazing 63 years together. She went to work right out of high school. The couple then moved to Billerica, MA, Burlington, MA, Hudson, MA, and then spent many years on Pine Street in Melrose. In retirement Barbara and Bill split their time between Nashua, NH and Haines City, FL.

The Rigazio's A Frame and their log cabin were their favorite weekend get aways. And of course, Shelia's Grove in Merrimack, where Barbara, Bill and family spent 14 summers with great family and friends. Family, Faith and Friends meant the world to her as it did with Bill.

She lived with the biggest collector of many things and Disney Fanatic we know (Bill, Dad, Papa). The Disney Cruise staff knew both Barbara and Bill by name. She was able to attend many of her grandchildren's events and had many fun visits with her great grandchildren. She looked forward to every outing even if it was just a short trip to let Bill go antique shopping while she sat in the car reading.

She is survived by; Her brother Daniel Phimister JR, Her four daughters/spouses; Lynne and her husband Dan Shea of Pelham, NH, Gayle Sweet and (late) George Sweet of Nashua, NH, Lori and her husband Bill Chisholm, of Nashua, NH, and Joanne and her husband Dana Boisvert, of Nashua, NH; her 11 grandchildren/spouses; Paul and Julie Shea, Laura and Julia Shea-Pelosi, Kade Shea, Samantha Sweet, Catherine Sweet, Bobby Chisholm, Danielle Chisholm, Brian Chisholm, McKenna Boisvert, Mallory Boisvert, Adeline Boisvert; 4 great grandkids; Grover Shea-Pelosi, Auden Shea-Pelosi, Lincoln Shea and Paxton Shea.

Memorial Service will be at The Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad St., Nashua, NH on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 9:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend.
