Obituary

Barbara A. (Harkins) Perrotti, of Melrose, passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2022 at the age of 89. She was born on April 26, 1932 in Somerville, MA to Cornelius and Margaret (Lynch) Harkins. Barbara was raised in Revere and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School. Barbara and her husband Theodore moved to Melrose in 1954 where they raised their children. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her children at English's Campground in Ossipee, New Hampshire. Loading 6 kids and her beloved golden retriever Penny in the station wagon on many weekends was always a challenge. Later in life, Barbara and Ted would build their dream vacation home in Madison, New Hampshire where she was able to continue spending weekends with her children and grandchildren. She was even known to hop on a snowmobile a time or two to prove to the grandkids she could still ride. After retiring, Barbara and Ted decided to give the RV life a try and would head out on several adventures that took them across the United States. Barbara will always be remembered by her family for her love of the piano, singing and music. She was very gifted and loved playing any chance she could get, her favorite song being the Ava Maria. Over the years, a constant joy in Barbara's life were the many four-legged family members, Duchess, Smokey, Penny, Max, and Shire. Barbara never met a dog she didn't slip a treat to. She was the beloved wife of 67 years to Theodore F. Perrotti . Loving mother of Theodore Jr. of Lynn, Linda Corso of Haverhill, Richard and his significant other Stacey Bennick of Nazareth, PA, Donald & his wife Kim and David & his wife Mary Kate all of Melrose. Barbara was predeceased by her son Stephen and son-in-law Matthew Corso. Proud Nana of Stephen Jr., Jennifer, Joseph, Bryan, Nicholas, Matthew, Andrea, Tori, Natashia and Ava. Great grandmother of Matthew Jr., Stella, Timothy, Cayden and Amelia. She is also survived by her brother Neil Harkins and brother-in-law Arthur Hubbard. Funeral services will be private.
