Beatrice Mae Betty (Gingras) Greene passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, on August 28th, she was 85. Betty was born in Melrose, raised in Malden and graduated from Girls Catholic High School in Malden. She lived in Melrose most of her life, Deerfield Beach Florida from 1973 to 1985 and then Melrose since 1985. Mrs. Greene worked part time as a clerk for Tourraines Clothing in Stoneham & Sea Girl Dress Company in Florida for many years. Betty was involved as PTA President for several years in Malden, she campaigned for Mayor Kelleher in Malden for several years, was a former member of Sacred Hearts Church in Malden, Incarnation Church in Melrose and was a present member of St. Marys Church here in Melrose. She was the wife of the late John J. Jack Greene. Mother of James Jimmy Seery of FL, Andrea Ambrogne of Stoneham, Jack Greene & his wife Marge of OH, Deborah Debbie Romano & her husband Franc of Littleton, Janice Lee & her husband Michael of GA and the late Bill Seery. Sister of Virginia Mandigo of Falmouth, Bob Gingrass of NH and the late Lorraine Bucossi. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed. Aug. 31st at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 4-8PM. Burial in Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
