Obituary

Bernard A. Hines, 73, died June 23rd at Melrose Wakefield Hospital Monday after a brief illness. Born and raised in Roxbury and Dorchester, Bernard graduated from Boston English High School and served in the Army from 1948 to 1952. He was a letter carrier in the Melrose Post Office for 30 yrs and retired in 1989. Bernard was a V F W member of Post #585 in Meridian Conn. and a member of St Mary's Church. Son of the late Wallace & Lena ( Hicks ) Hines. Brother of Theresa M. Foley of Weymouth, Arthur F. Hines of Buzzards Bay, Margaret H. McKean of Melrose and the late Joseph W. & Roy I. Hines. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St Melrose on Fri June 27 at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, corner of Herbert & Myrtle Sts. Melrose at 9 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs 4 - 8 PM. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. Korean War Army veteran.
