Betty Jo (Stowers) Adams, 67, of Melrose, died Monday March 8th, at Parkland Medical Center in NH after a brief illness. Mrs. Adams overcame cancer in 2001 and was in remission until early 2004. Born in 1936 in Melrose, Massachusetts, she grew up there and was a resident of almost 60 years before relocating to Londonderry, NH in 2000 to live with her son and his family. Mrs. Adams graduated from Melrose High School Class of 1953, where she formed the bonds of many friendships that endured to this day, and was a graduate of Chandler School for women in 1955. Mrs. Adams worked for Coffin and Richardson, an engineering firm in Boston for over 30 years. She ran her own business, Forever Florals, for nine years designing commemorative gifts crafted from dried pressed flowers from her own garden. Bette Jo enjoyed tending her garden, being a homemaker and most of all her family and friends. She was an active member of the Incarnation Church before moving to New Hampshire She was the mother of Philip T. Adams & his wife Joellen of Londonderry NH and John S. Adams & his wife Deanne of Chelmsford. Sister of Sandra Stowers of Melrose. Grandmother of Christin, Michael & Alyssa. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thurs.
