Bradley James DeChiaro passed away suddenly in Providence, Rhode Island, on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the age of 30. Brad was born in Danvers, MA, raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High Scholl, Class of 1998 , where he was a member of the varsity baseball team. He graduated from Johnson & Wales in Rhode Island with a degree in Culinary Science. Brad had a passion for the culinary arts starting at the age of 17. He worked as a line cook for Turner Seafood & Grill Restaurant in Melrose for 7 years, the Oyster Bar Restaurant in Providence, RI for 5 years and the past year and a half as executive chef at the Oyster Bar. Mr. DeChiaro had a lifelong goal of owning his own restaurant and was in the process of moving to Philadelphia to fulfill his dream. Brad loved baseball, video games, fishing, and working. He was also a sports car enthusiast, owning several throughout the years. He was the cherished son of Samuel & Margaret (Wilson) DeChiaro. Beloved brother of Gregory M. DeChiaro of Melrose. Devoted companion of Elizabeth Ostroff of RI. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, July 13th at 8AM. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Brad's life will be held at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM.
