Bruce H. Hartigan passed away on Thursday August 12th after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 42. Bruce was raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Marys Grammar School, Malden Catholic High School Class of 1979 and from Bentley College in 1983. He also received his MBA in finance from Bentley College. Bruce was Vice President of Finance & Strategic Planning for Sodexho USA of Lexington where he has worked for the past 20 years. Mr. Hartigan was a devoted family man, a lifelong resident of Melrose and a member of St. Marys Church in Melrose. Bruce was the beloved husband of Anne (Petmezakis) Hartigan. Loving father of Paula, Katherine & Christina Hartigan all of Melrose. Cherished brother of Brian Hartigan, Richard Hartigan & his wife Kerrie of Peabody, Robert Hartigan & his wife Kathleen of ME, Mary Signor & her husband Doug of NH. Predeceased by his parents Paul H. & Margaret M. (Hargreaves) Hartigan and his sister Susan. Devoted son-in-law of Christine Petmezakis of Melrose. Brother-in-law of Elaine & Evan Kakis of Illinois and Joyce & Jay Powell of Woburn. Also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tues. Aug. 17th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
