Carleton E. Shores Jr. passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on Friday, October 8, 2010, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was 40 years of age. Mr. Shores was born in Melrose on May 30, 1970, was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1988. Carleton worked in the sales & circulation department of the Quincy Patriot Ledger for the past 14 years and part time at the Healthtrax Gym in Hanover. He lived in several towns in the South Shores over the years, was an avid Boston sports fan and had a great sense of humor. Carleton was the cherished son of Barbara E. Shores Fox of Melrose and Carleton E. Shores Sr. & his wife Carol of Duxbury. Loving brother of Kelly Marks of NH, Meagan Grossman & her husband Michael of NY, Maureen Cronin & her husband Sean of Kingston, Colleen & Ryan Shores both of Duxbury. Beloved uncle of Krystal, Ashley, Mackenzie, Cameron, Andrew, Lilah, Jack & Della. Devoted friend of Ingrid. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday October 15th at 10AM. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Carleton's life will be held at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 11AM.
