Carmen A. (Dominguez) Guerra, of Melrose, passed away on February 17, 2017 at the age of 92. Carmen was born in Cuba on August 5, 1924 to Carlos & Isabelle (Estrellas) Dominguez. She was raised in Cuba and Came to the U.S. in 1962. Carmen moved to Melrose in 1965 and was a resident ever since. She was a very charitable person, always trying to help others. Carmen was a former member of St. Joseph Church in Wakefield, and she worked as a dietician and chef at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital as well as The Golden Living Center on Martin St., in Melrose. She was the beloved wife of the late Alberto Guerra. Loving mother of Alberto Guerra Jr. & his wife Janice of Yorktown, VA, and Alejandro Guerra of North Beverly. Survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 from 8:45 – 9:45 AM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Immediately following the Visitation, A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose, at 10 AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Church Building Fund, 46 Myrtle St., Melrose, MA 02176.
