IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carmen A.
Restivo
July 7, 1928 – March 2, 2024
Carmen A. Restivo bid a peaceful goodbye to family and friends after a 95+ year journey. Born in Brighton on July 7, 1928 to John and Anna Restivo both proud immigrants to the United States from VillaRosa Sicily which he embraced his entire life.
Carmen married the love of his life, the late Mary (Provost) Restivo on September 5, 1955, packed his 1954 Pontiac and both set off to Benson Arizona, with accommodations courtesy of the United States Army Signal Corp.
They returned to Medford in June 1956 to welcome son 1 of 3 where Carmen started a 40 year career at Badger Company as a mechanical engineer. Over that time, he mastered his professional craft leading his team in designing complex chemical plants internationally from his office in Cambridge.
He welcomed sons 2 and 3 while perfecting his selective hearing skills on Mary, honing his passions for photography and gardening, refining an appreciation for classical music and baking the most mouth-watering lemon meringue pie this side of the universe.
Eventually, Carmen and Mary pushed their 3 sons out of the nest to enjoy some traveling, kickin' the good times learning to square dance and playing for dollars over a competitive game of bridge with friends.
Carmen retired in 1993 to take care of Mary during her battle with leukemia, putting on a hero's cape that he rarely showed in public. Once that cape was no longer needed he found peace in his 3 sons and their families.
He remained active until recently with his many friends traveling, golfing, bowling, dancing and enjoying the occasional Rob Roy, sweet, straight up with 2 cherries (and don't be cheap with the alcohol) all while exploring the world through his computer and the internet.
He leaves his son Jack and his wife Janet of Melrose, his son Rick and his wife Donna of Haverhill and his son David and his wife Elizabeth of Burlington his grandchildren John, Matt, Michael and Jesse and their spouses, 10 great grandchildren and countless friends including his long-time coffee companion Eddie Strong.
