Carol Ann (Fennessy) Cunningham, of Malden, died at the Mass. General Hospital on Dec. 10, 2013 at the age of 62. Carol was born in Melrose, raised in Cambridge and was a graduate of Cambridge Ridge & Latin High School, Class of 1968. She resided in Malden since 1985 and worked as a Bartender at the Malden V.F.W. for many years. Carol was a past President of the Malden V.F.W. Auxiliary and loved to spend time there with her many friends. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling to the ocean and Cape Cod & Texas. Carol was the devoted daughter of Ambrose & the late Margaret (Goodwin) Thorne. Loving mother of John W. Cunningham, Jr & his wife Jennifer of Melrose, Christina J. Cunningham of TX and Michael P. Cunningham of Melrose. Caring sister of Richard "Dickie" Fennessy of TX, Mary Spears of FL, Leonard Fennessy of Dudley, Barbara Durette of Easton and Wally Thorne of Everett. Cherished grandmother of Colby, Alicia, Sandra, Tyler, Raymond, Daniel, Zachary, Michael, Carmen, Hannah and future granddaughter Isabella. Carol is finally reunited with her longtime friend Bill Castrini. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, Dec. 16th from 4-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Malden Church of the Nazarene, 529 Eastern Avenue Malden, on Tuesday December 17th @10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
