Obituary

Carol Feeley Lee, a lifelong resident of Melrose, passed away at the Wakefield Center in Wakefield, MA, on October 21, 2023, at 81 years of age, after a long illness.

Carol was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on September 21, 1942, to the late Alice Ahern Feeley and Francis X. Feeley. She moved to Melrose as a child and graduated as a member of the Melrose High School class of 1962. Carol married the love of her life, George Lee, in 1967 and shared 32 beautiful years. Carol was a devoted wife and mother, dedicating herself to creating a warm and loving home for her family. Carol and George were beyond thrilled to welcome their daughter Mary in 1973 and triplets Frank, George, and Tommy in 1975. She later found fulfillment in the Melrose school system, working in the high school cafeteria. Carol's welcoming smile and caring nature touched the lives of countless students.

Carol was such a special lady. Her family was everything to her. She loved being a part of a big family and actively participated in family gatherings and celebrations. Carol and George enjoyed a full and happy life together. Whether it was taking her younger siblings to Salem Willows, vacationing in Marshfield, or traveling to Virginia to visit family. She loved all the various family gatherings on holidays or celebrating birthdays. Carol, George, and their kids looked forward to their yearly vacation on Lake Winnipesaukee, often with her brothers' and sisters' families. Carol was proud to be a Nana to her granddaughter, Sasha, who was born in 2011. Carol enjoyed many wonderful friendships throughout her life, especially with dear friend Priscilla O'Neil for over 50 years. She loved music, whether collecting record albums or singing along with her favorite radio stations. Carol's infectious sense of humor always brought joy and laughter to moments shared with family and friends, creating memories we will cherish.

Throughout her life, Carol held a deep and unwavering faith in God that gave her strength and comfort in times of both joy and sorrow. Carol is reunited in eternal peace with her loving husband, George Lee, who predeceased her in 1999, and son Thomas, who predeceased her in 1976. Carol was the devoted mother of Mary, Frank and wife Jen, George and wife Caryn; the loving grandmother of Sasha; and the dedicated daughter of the late Francis and Alice Feeley of Melrose. The third of twelve children, Carol was sister to the late Alice and late Herb Carney, the late Rose and late Paul MacDonald, the late Francis Feeley, the late Thomas and his wife Joan Feeley of Andover, Jeremiah and Mary Jane Feeley, Catherine and Larry Dennison, Mary and Paul Downing, the late Charles Feeley and Susan Mullens, the late Paul and Nancy Feeley, Maureen and Jack Woods, and David and Karen Feeley as well as many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
