Carol A. (Reddington) Shaw, of Melrose, died at the Wingate at Belvidere in Lowell on July 17, 2017 at the age of 73. Carol was born & raised in Malden and a graduate of the Immaculate Conception School in Malden. She resided in Melrose since 1971, worked as a Waitress for the Hilltop Restaurant for 37 years and also as a Cashier for K Mart in Saugus for 12 years. Carol was a member of St. Mary's Church for many years and loved to play bingo. She was a cheerleading coach for the Melrose pop warner football for 10 years, enjoyed traveling on Elks conventions with her husband and spending time in Bar Harbor, ME. Carol's family was the most important part of her life and she loved to spend her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late David M. Shaw, Sr. for almost 50 years. Loving mother of David M. Shaw, Jr. of Seabrook, NH, John S. Shaw & his wife Teresa of Dracut and Ann Marie Molbeck of Lawrence. Cherished grandmother of Derek, Brandon, Jessica, Ashley & her husband T.J., Cassandra, Lindsay and Paul Jr. Great grandmother of Autumn, Brady and Adeline. Caring sister of John Reddington III & his wife Janice of Amesbury. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Sunday, July 23rd from 2-5PM. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Monday, July 24th at 8:45AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St., Mary's Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
