Carolyn M. (Johnson), of Melrose, died at home on June 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 67. Carolyn was born & raised in Melrose and was a lifelong Melrose resident. She was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1965. Carolyn loved children and worked as a Assistant Coordinator of Transportation for the Melrose School Dept. Parent Pupil Services for over 20 years before her retirement at the age of 55. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose and loved spending her time with her cherished grandson Jackson. Carolyn enjoyed camping with her family at Rand Pond in Goshen, NH for many years, traveling on cruises to Alaska, Panama Canal and trips to Michigan, Maryland and Las Vegas. She was the beloved wife of Robert A. Skaare. Devoted daughter of the late Mary (Hunter) Johnson. Loving mother of Robert A. Skaare, II & his wife Jessica of MD, Jonathan A. Skaare of CA and Kathleen M. Skaare of W. Newton. Cherished Nana of Jackson. Caring sister of Judith Scarinci & her husband Donald, Arthur Johnson & his wife Lorraine, all of Amesbury, the late Joanne LeBlanc & her husband Donnie of Saugus and Kathleen Johnson. Sister in law of Richard Skaare & his wife Jane of PA. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, June 29th from 4-8PM. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private.
