Catherine A. Sheehy passed away at Maristhill Nursing & Rehab Center in Waltham, on December 1,,2006, she was 90 years of age. Catherine was last of the 10 children of the late Michael & Mary (O'Donnell) Sheehy. She was born in Roxbury, raised in Roxbury & Dorchester, lived in Hyde Park for 30 years and Melrose the past 25yrs. Catherine was a food service manager for the Boston Public Schools, managing the cafeterias at the William Barton Rodgers School, Boston Latin High School and Hyde Park High School for over 25 years. She was very active with the Hyde Park Seniors and at the McCarthy House in Melrose, where she resided the past 25 years. Catherine enjoyed talk radio, politics and working with Catholic Charities. Sister of the late Mary Geier, James Sheehy, Margaret Wherty, Ann Hartley, Helen Havey, Rita Jones, John Sheehy, Richard Sheehy and Rev. Joseph Sheehy. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday Dec. 4th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6PM. Interment in Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
