Catherine V. (Hegerich) Charos passed away at Glenridge Nursing Care Center in Medford on May 12th, she was 77. Catherine was born in Boston, raised in Mission Hill and graduated from Mission High School. She worked as an operator and then as a staff assistant at the New England Telephone Company for 37 years, retiring in 1989. She was a resident of Melrose for the past 54 years, a member of the N.E. Telephone Pioneeers and Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenwood. Catherine was the wife of Constantine G. 'Dino' Charos. Mother of George M. Charos (former Melrose Alderman) of Marblehead, Paul Charos & his wife Jean and Christine C. McAnneny & her late husband William all of Wakefield. Sister of Eleanor Winters of Quincy, Louise Mullins of Marshfield, Dorothy Clark of Quincy & the late Charles, Rita & Mary Hegerich. Grandmother of Brian & Matthew McAnneny and Justin & Amanda Charos. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday, May 14th, at 8AM. Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs 4-8PM.
