Catherine (Kay) Bridget Connolly died, surrounded by her family, on January 17, 2006 at Doctor's Community Hospital in Lanham, Maryland. Catherine was born February 9, 1920 in Chelsea, MA, she attended St. Rose High School in Chelsea and graduated in 1938. Catherine married Thomas Patrick Connolly, formerly of Revere, in 1941. They were married for over 50 years until Thomas' death in 1991. Catherine resided in Melrose from 1948 until 2000 when she moved to Bowie, Maryland. She resided at Woodward Estates Assisted Living Community until her death. Catherine was a Crossing Guard for the Melrose Police for several years and worked for many years at the Melrose Cooperative Bank. Mrs. Connolly was the wife of the late Thomas P. Connolly. Mother of Helen M. Murray of W. Roxbury and Thomas P. Connolly Jr. & his wife Donna (Busby) of Bowie MD. Sister of James Doherty of AK. Sister-in-law of Pauline Doherty of Chelsea. Grandmother of Kathleen, Kevin, Elizabeth, Thomas, Jeffrey & Matthew. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday Jan. 23rd, at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. There are no visiting hours. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett
