Catherine M. (Lawlor) Dowling, of Melrose, passed away March 22, 2005 at the Winchester Hospital. She was 95. Born on June 16, 1909 to James & Mary (Welch) Lawlor, she was raised in Chelsea and graduated from St. Rose Grammar School and Chelsea High School. Catherine was a member of St. Rose Church, St. Rose Guild & Ladies Sodality. She taught business classes at Chelsea High School before her marriage to the late Joseph L. Dowling. Catherine was the loving mother of Joseph Dowling, Jr. & his wife Peg, of Lynn, Ann Glines & her husband Dr. George, of Malden, & Joan Barton & her husband Richard, of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of 12 & great grandmother of 14. Catherine was also a past member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tues., March 29, at 9AM. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10AM. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM.
